This is the V edition of the International Biennial of Art in Madeira - Portugal MIAB that this year with the participation of 119 artists and photographers from countries and regions as diverse as Canada, Angola, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Japan, United States America, Mozambique, Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Iceland, Finland, Mozambique, Czech Republic, China, France, and many others.
Once again under the coordination of the President of MIAB & Zarco Academy of Arts International , Manuel Barata, this collective has its first opening on the 16th , at 18 o'clock , at the Museum of Electricity - Home of Light, in Funchal .
This is why the official opening of the International Biennial of Art Wood , who still has two other moments , read inaugurations .
So the next day, 17 , Friday, at 18 o'clock , the Maritime Terminal of the Port of Funchal will host the 2nd biennial integrated exposure , with more works of the participating artists . Finally , on day 20 , by 19 hours , will be the turn of the Culture House of Santana being the scene of the third inauguration of the International Biennial of Art Wood, an event that is also part of the City of Culture - Santana .
Painting , sculpture, photography , engraving , installation and ceramics are six of artistic expressions that make up the International Biennial of Art Wood, presented in its various forms by 82 artists invited to participate in the cultural event.
In terms of special features there are some aspects to retain .
The United Photo Press ( UPP - World ) New York will be present at the International Art Biennale of Madeira through the president of UPP , Carlos Alves de Sousa, who will arrive Wood Thursday, for the presentation of the book 'Black & White' ( annual edition ) and simultaneously to the opening of the biennial where 37 participating artists UPP ( photography and painting ) .
Another project is to see the ' Enlance Andante ' ( 42 ways to craft shoes recreated in sculpture and installation ) of the Spanish architect Ramon Álvarez and gallery O + O Valencia Enriqueta Martinez Hueso .
The International Biennial of Art Wood can be seen in the three spaces until March 1, 2014 .
